Kotelo Mbekeni
In 2009,Brian Kotelo started helping with coaching a football group (homeless and people with enduring mental health problems), age 18-39 years old, in the Cambridge area.
It became apparent that the demand and popularity were increasing. This group took part in football tournaments organised by the local council.
Brian assisted the group with transport to national trials (for European football tournament for homeless and mental health), also helped the group with transport to the games and training, equipment and kit.
Brian approached a friend Sisa Mbekeni who was doing similar work in London including unregistered charity work in Eastern Cape, South Africa. We would raise money through football tournaments and running races to support a wide range of people in need of funding in underprivileged villages in South Africa.
This continued over the years and in May 2020 a registered charity was formed to continue with this work on a formal basis.
